Classes were out for the day, just recently. Try-outs were today, football, soccer, basketball and baseball today, River thought at least. He would join football, but he'd never tried out here before, he'd been a linebacker before, but he wasn't about to mess with the football crowd. People had established roles there. He'd been in baseball back home, for only a little while, he'd probably destroy a bat now though from cracking it over the ball or accidentally over someone's head.
River was more of the school's soccer star. He could go any place on the field and adjust. He was a great goalie due to his overall size. Though, the basketball couch wanted him this year. River was never very good at basketball. His brother, William, or Blaze, was the basketball star of the entire family. Will was much taller then River though frighteningly. He'd declined the offer of basketball now what was left was soccer and baseball.
He could have really used someone's advice about it right now as he peered at both fields with obvious focus in his eyes.

Cynthia came out of the girls dorm, wearing a simple pink tank and black leggings with puma tennis shoes. She crossed the campus, her dance bag on her shoulder, heading towards the sports fields. Dance try-outs where today and she was nervous. At her old school she was dance captain, leading and coming up with the routines weren't hard. But adjusting to a new team and new leadership, who already has shown a dislike towards Cyn already, was hard.
Setting down her bag, she looked around. She was early, she was always early. Combing her hair back and pulling it into a pony tail, Cynthia started to stretch. [/blockquote]

River snapped out of focus when he heard a bag being set down. "Wha?" he said rather dully, the tall young man spun a bit before landing his eyes on Cynthia. "oh hey." He said with a smile that almost said 'I just woke up from a long sleep or a deep trance'. It was his tendency, he looked her over briefly. Dancer He guessed quickly, it was from experience, unfortunately. He didn't look like he was dressed for any sport or have a bag. It was a lazy tendency. He'd wear his shorts under his pants and he had his shine guards on under the baggy denim. He was at least wearing cleats. He had a tank on under his oversized t-shirt, a mostly form fitting one that he didn't really like but wore for try-outs and practice just to get it dirty.
He saw he start stretching and figured it would probably be a good idea for him too. He started to stretch out his leg, in a crane like stance. "Trying out for the dance team huh?" He asked to engage in a bit of conversation, he didn't know if he'd seen her around before, but he was friendly and had nothing to do.

Now what type of best friend wouldn't go to cheer her best friend and wish her good luck? Being co-captain of the cheer squad also made it obligatory, but this was Cynthia, her better half that was trying out, and who else but Jackie knew she was the best.
Running across field and hoping she wasn't late, Jackie, as usual, tripped on the plan grass, sliding down to her hands and knees. "Really, this isn't a position I want to get accustom too" she mused, laughing at herself. "Though half of the football team wouldn't mind...oh wait...they haven't" she laughed at her own personal joke, knowing she was the school skank.
Jack Jack got up, brushing herself off and glad she was wearing jeans for once, looking more decent than other times. She walked slowly, making sure she wouldn't trip on anything anymore making it to the spot of the try-outs. "I'm not late am I?" she looked around nervously for her best friend, grinning and hugging Cynthia. She turned, long curly locks falling over her shoulder "Hey River" she smiled her her signature smile that would blow any guy to mars. "Sup?" Jackie asked, not keeping her hold off Cynthia, almost as if being protective.

Cynthia sighed as she placed her feet into second position, and bend to the side with her arm over her head, stretching out her sides. Standing up, her arms out she sighed softly, slowly getting nervous. But these jitters were always the best, these just made her work harder. The other girls, her competition, were slowly walking over and she couldn't help but to look them over. She has seen them before, at the Cheer try-outs, the ones that didn't make it. Shaking her head and rolled her eyes.
Glancing up, finally noticing River, blushing softly feeling bad she didn't acknowledge him before. "Yeah, what are you trying out for?" She asked before she let out a loud squeal when her best friend hugged her, catching her off guard. "Hey Jackie." She laughed as she patted Jackie's arms, shaking her head, her pony tail bouncing around. [/blockquote]

"Hey Jackie" River said with his unique crooked grin. "I'm good today." He nodded and stretched out his back then his attention shot to Cynthia. "Oh soccer again." He nodded, he'd just decided he'd stick with what he was best at, the couch probably would bench him for try-out since he'd been on the team already and really didn't need to prove himself.
He removed his over shirt to just stand in the tank top and began to stretch again. "Shouldn't be too hard. Ya know, played before, probably get in again." Since he'd stayed in shape and obviously wasn't injured he was ready.

"Soccer? Oh cool. Any good?" She asked with a small smirk a small lock falling in front of her eyes. Brushing it away she smiled. "Need any practice? I use to help my older brother back home when he had try-outs." She added cocking her head to the side, with a shrug. "I need a good little work out before I try-out."
Okay, she couldn't help it, she eyed him over when he removed his over shirt. He was cute and athletic. Shaking her head she glanced away, feeling the heat rise to her cheeks as she knelt down to her bag and pulled out her leg warmers. They were so eighties but she loved them. [/blockquote]

"Any good?" River was slightly taken back by the question but he wasn't nearly cocky enough to say something like 'I'm the team champ.' Instead, he nodded with a smile, "I played last year, and the year before that." He spoke as he leaned all the way back. "Couch puts me in most games, doesn't matter where."
River thought for a bit about the question about playing a practice run. He shrugged, he guessed if he ended up benched, at least he would have gotten to play a little bit today. "Sure, you want in too Jackie?" River asked looking at the other girl as he took his jeans off, revealing his old soccer shorts from the year before and his nearly knee high socks that covered his shin guards. He set his clothes to the side waiting for an answer.

Jackie skipped over to River giving him a hug "I'm game" a mischievous smile on her face. She looked at Cynthia, thinking that she might have a crush on him, so unlike her, what happen to Angel and Anthony that she was more open.
The cheerleader giggled, at the question. "You are being modest River, I've seen you play," she had no choice she had to cheer for the team "You are beyond good." Soccer was definitely one of Jackie's favorite sports to watch, this was going to be fun.

Cynthia noticed Jackie looking at her and she wrinkled her nose at her. "Two against one or all for themselves?" She as she slipped on her leg warmers. Glancing at her bag, she make sure her dance shoes were still in there for later. Tugging on her tank, she smiled at the two. "Go Easy on me, I haven't played in awhile." She smirked. It wasn't exactly true, she spent the summer helping her younger brother get ready for the new season. [/blockquote]

Jackie giggled at Cynthia, winking at her "I'll go easy on you Vi, oh baby oh baby" wiggling her brows she jumped onto her best friends back, arms lightly around her neck. "You like it rough admit it" Jackie's mind was always in the gutter, and she didn't care who heard, guys didn't have to sugar coat things in front of her and she loved it. "You are such a lair, I help you train your bro. Two against one, I'm sure the girls can defeat the soccer captain." from behind Cynthia's shoulder, she mischievously grinned at River, hoping he would accept their challenge.

River only laughed, "Sure thing." He didn't care if he won or lost, he just liked to play the game. The taste of after school special sort of rang in his head after that thought went through. Two against one wouldn't be too bad, especially not with girls. He walked away for a few minutes then returned with a soccer ball, using a great amount of control with it. "Are you ladies ready?" He smiled, stopped the ball.

Cynthia laughed as Jackie jumped in her arms, "I didn't mean it like that, sweetie but if you want too." She added jokingly. Setting her best friend down, she rubbed her hands and shook her head. Jackie certainly knew how to make her laugh. She turned around to see River return with the ball. "Yay, this is gonna be fun." She giggled softly. [/blockquote]

Jackie wiggled her brows happily, whispering in her best friends ear. "He has no idea we are good." giggling and patting Cynthia on the shoulder. "You on purdy boy." winking at River.
Undoing the buckle of her jeans, Jackie pulled down her pants revealing shorts. Stumbling to take the leggings off, she fell face first onto the grass, just to go into a fit of giggles. "Jacqueline, you have class, have to admit."

"Rather graceful Jackie." He said with a bit of a chuckle. "Need help?" River took a step towards her and extending a hand to her. "Or would rather play soccer like that?" He joked. Someone with 'grace' like that wouldn't be that hard to beat, but he also knew she was a cheerleader so he supposed she was just rather clumsy at the moment. He was waiting for the 'game face' of the two. He really had no idea what to expect yet, he just hoped it'd be good.
((If my posts are short and take a long time between them, I'm sorry, school this year bit into me and chewed me up pretty good.))
